Allan uses his global investment and operational expertise to drive performance within his accounts, to underwrite diverse funds, and separate account managers and portfolios
Based in RFA’s Los Angeles office, Allan Popper is a Principal at RCLCO Fund Advisors, an affiliate business of RCLCO and a leading consultant to institutional advisors. Allan oversees a number of separately managed accounts and leads the underwriting of multiple asset management systems, financial performance, and analytics on behalf of institutional clients. Allan is a member of RFA’s Underwriting Committee, helping to vet investment decisions.
Allan brings over thirty years of Institutional and operational Real Estate experience to his work for our clients. Prior to RCLCO, Allan ran asset management and operations for Avistone, a national investor/operator of industrial and office properties. He also spent roughly 15 years at GE Capital Real Estate where he held senior roles in the US and globally in loan and JV management, direct asset management office and multi-family properties, ran loan workout teams and lead the underwriting of distressed debt portfolios. Prior experience includes loan workouts and lending for global and local real estate lenders such as Bank of Nova Scotia and San Francisco Federal (now part of Citibank), and sales of condominiums for a real estate developer. His first job was during summer breaks at university building houses.
Allan graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, where he studied Political Science with an emphasis on international relations. He holds a MS in Real Estate from New York University.
Allan and his family have lived and worked abroad, and he is a dual EU/US citizen. His spends free time with family and friends hiking and exploring in the US and globally.
